When does Microsoft support for Exchange Server 2016 end?
Extended support for Exchange Server 2016 ended on 14 October 2025. Your CALs remain valid permanently, and the server can still be run.
What is the difference between this User CAL and an Exchange Server 2016 Device CAL?
A User CAL is tied to a user, who can then access the server from any number of devices. A Device CAL is tied to a device, which can then be used by any number of users. If your employees usually use several devices, the User CAL is often the more cost-effective choice.
